Double-Wall Tanks
Today, more and more customers are choosing underground storage systems with secondary-containment
features in order to provide maximum protection of underground-water supplies. When they choose a Xerxes double-wall tank, they get a product backed by years of innovation in the design and manufacture of fiberglass tanks. The first to manufacture a UL-listed, fiberglass double-wall tank, Xerxes continues to expand its product line as the market for secondary containment increases.
Whether or not required by law, customers choose a Xerxes double-wall fiberglass tank for several reasons. It is rustproof, both inside and outside, and maintenance-free. It is compatible with petroleum products, including alcohols and alcohol-gasoline mixtures. The secondary wall provides maximum protection of the environment in the unlikely event of a leak in the primary wall. A double-wall tank offers a full 360-degree secondary containment, and, unlike other types of double-wall or jacketed tanks, the secondary containment can be pressure tested at the installation site both before and after installation.
Once installed, Xerxes tanks require no corrosion maintenance or EPA-mandated corrosion monitoring, thus avoiding the inconveniences and expenses of monitoring and testing that some steel tanks require. A variety of monitoring devices can be installed in the interstitial space of a double-wall tank, including Xerxes’ own TRUCHEK® hydrostatic monitoring system. Xerxes double-wall tanks are available in capacities ranging from 600 gallons to 40,000 gallons.
