Multicompartment Tanks
Xerxes multicompartment tanks are a popular choice among retail gasoline marketers and convenience-store owners because storing two or three grades of fuel in a single tank within separate compartments requires much less space than storing them in separate tanks. In addition, shipping one tank rather than two or three tanks reduces shipping costs. Installing a single tank generally results in a smaller excavation space and easier installation. Finally, regulatory and insurance costs are often lower with a single multicompartment tank than with multiple tanks.
Some regulatory agencies require a double-wall bulkhead between certain products, for instance, between diesel and unleaded fuel. The Xerxes double-wall multicompartment tank comes standard with a double-wall bulkhead and the single-wall tank offers a double-wall-bulkhead option. Multicompartment tanks are available in capacities up to 40,000 gallons.
