Single-Wall Tanks
Introduced in 1963, single-wall fiberglass tanks presented a rustproof,
cost-effective alternative to steel tanks. Since then, fiberglass tank usage has
grown remarkably. And the reason is simple. No amount of "protective coating" can
change the fact that steel rusts. And while coating a steel tank and adding an
anode to the outside can sometimes delay this process, it does not change a steel
tank's natural tendency to rust, both internally and externally. Once installed,
Xerxes tanks require no corrosion maintenance or EPA-mandated corrosion monitoring.
Fiberglass tanks avoid the inconveniences and expenses of monitoring and testing
that some steel tanks require.
Thousands of Xerxes single-wall tanks are in service today, an indication of the
decades-long track record of fiberglass tanks' trouble-free performance. Where
secondary containment is not mandated or chosen, a single-wall fiberglass tank
is clearly the superior choice for underground storage of liquids. Xerxes single-wall
tanks are available in capacities ranging from 600 gallons to 50,000 gallons.
